Vegetable Oils To Moisturize Your Hair
In this article we explain a natural and affordable way to moisturize your hair with vegetable oils. Each oil has its specific benefits, but they all moisturize your hair. You also don’t need to use any other artificial products.
We’ll explain what they are and how to use them.
There are many factors that can damage your capillary structure, such as:
- the climate
- hair dryers
- paint
- gel products
- stress
- a bad diet
It is therefore good to know how to moisturize your hair with vegetable oils.
These oils are great for those with dry or damaged hair, or for post-summer care (or just occasionally).
People with oily hair should avoid them. People with dry and split ends can also use them, as long as they avoid using them on the scalp.
Vegetable oils to moisturize your hair
sesame oil
Hindus use a lot of sesame oil to massage the body and hair. In the latter case, it helps prevent baldness and dandruff. It is very oily so you should only use it on all your hair and scalp in case of dry hair.
The benefits of this oil include:
- it contains a lot of antioxidants
- is rich in vitamins
- contains many minerals
- has anti-bacterial properties
- has anti-inflammatory properties
- has anti-fungal properties
linseed oil
The omega 3 fatty acids in linseed oil care for your hair and moisturize it thoroughly. That’s why you can not only eat it, but also use it for this. Flaxseed oil also contains:
- vitamin E
- protein
- iodine
It doesn’t have a very greasy texture, so you can use it on any kind of hair. We recommend it especially for hair ends, which are easily damaged and split.
almond oil
Almond oil is one of the best known and most used oils. One reason for this is the fact that it’s one of the cheapest, but that doesn’t make it any less useful.
It is ideal for hair that is particularly dry and broken, to make it smoother and to reduce volume in voluminous hair or hair that quickly becomes static.
Neem oil
This oil is not as well known as the previous ones. Yet it has very powerful properties for the health of your hair. The tree, which contains Hindu oil, has been used traditionally and with great success in Ayurveda medicine.
The oil contains plant sterols and essential fatty acids such as:
- omega 3
- omega 6
- azadirachtin (a limonoid especially useful as an antibacterial agent)
- omega 9
Neem oil helps against:
- dryness
- itch
- rose
- psoriasis
- hair loss
- lice
coconut oil
Coconut oil, with its great fragrance and fine texture, is the secret by which many Indian women keep their hair healthy and beautiful. You can apply it to your hair and scalp before shampooing by massaging it in deeply.
It is very useful against dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis or general itchiness because it has antibacterial properties. If you have very oily hair, you can follow the same procedure with coconut milk.
How do you apply it
- Rub your favorite oil from the middle of your hair to the ends, or from your scalp if it is very dry.
- Then wash your hair as usual.
People with split ends can also use a few drops after shampooing.
- We recommend that people with very dry and dull hair put two or three drops on the palm of their hand.
- Rub your hands together and spread the oil.
- Then comb and massage it through your hair.
Another option for those with oily hair is to mix the oil with natural aloe vera gel in equal amounts so that the product is less greasy, but can still moisturize and condition your hair.
You can also add the oil to masks, shampoo, or natural hair dye (such as henna-based paint).
